84, of Troy

Raymond Bucci, 84, of Troy, died on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.  He was born on August 3, 1931, in Pittsburgh, Penn., to George and Mary Bucci. He grew up in Pittsburgh and attended a Catholic school and served as an altar boy. He graduated from high school in Pittsburgh and attended a junior college and studied business. 

Ray married Dorothy Gorsuch on Friday the 13th in April of 1950. Their 66 years of marriage produced four wonderful girls. He worked for Loftus Engineering in Pittsburgh. They moved to Reno in 1983 and he worked as a supervisor for Spiegel Catalog.  

He retired and moved to Troy to be near his family. He was a devoted family man. He enjoyed huckleberry picking in the mountains. He was president of the Board of Directors of Lincoln County Transportation and vice president of the Kootenai Senior Citizen’s Center. 

He was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters and two grandsons.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy Bucci, Troy; four children Denise Whedon (Don), Donna Rugani, both of  Troy; Diana Taylor (Tony), Nevada;  and Darlene Smith, Troy;  a sister Gloria Helbling (Paul), Pennsylvania;  two brothers Joe and Jimmy Bucci of Pennsylvania; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Private family services are being held. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting cards and donations of monies to ease the burden of expenses. Arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.schnackenbergfh.com.
