Two people survived after a roll over Wednesday evening, near mile-marker 5 on Pipe Creek Road.

Darlene and Walter Wuest were driving an ATV-vehicle along Pipe Creek Road when Darlene, who was driving, swerved off the road heading south and over-corrected, rolling the vehicle, Montana State Highway Trooper Anthony Jenson said. Jenson said alcohol was a factor in the crash and that neither the driver nor passenger were wearing seat belts.

Walter was transported to Cabinet Peaks Medical Center. Darlene was not.

Jenson said is his experience, ATVs are more likely to roll over than regular vehicles.

“They have that high center of gravity,” Jenson said.

Walter’s condition is currently unknown.
