Kenneth L. "Rich" Richardson, 84, of Troy

Kenneth L. “Rich” Richardson, 84, of Troy, died on Saturday, June 18, 2016 in Kalispell. He was born May 18, 1932 to John and Helen Richardson in Belvidere, Illinois. He graduated from Belvidere High School in 1950.

Rich enlisted in the U.S. Navy on June 1, 1951 and served in the U.S. Navy until June 21, 1971. He then was transferred to the Fleet Reserve and was retired from the U.S. Navy on January 1, 1981.

Rich then worked for the U.S. Postal Service in San Diego, Calif. until his move to Troy, Mont. in 1986. He was a life member of the DAV, and a member of the American Legion Post #0097 in Libby. “Rich”, as he was known was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing. His hobby was cooking for his family and sharing recipes and cooking tips with friends.

He is survived by his wife Joann of Troy, a daughter Kathy Anderson of Rockford, Ill.; son John of San Diego, Calif., daughter Joy (Ross) Savage, of Troy, Montana; five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Military graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2016 at Milnor Lake Cemetery. No flowers please. Arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.schnackenbergfh.com.
