Finally, the stink is off.

The Libby Loggers defeated the Lakers A team 12-0 Monday night in Kalispell. Second baseman Seth Bateman had two runs on 3-for-3 batting, while Dylan Lane finished with 3 RBIs, two runs on 2-for-3 batting.

Coming into Kalispell hoping to end a nine-game skid, the Loggers roared out of the gate with five first-inning runs and followed up in the second inning with another four.

Libby ran in three more runs in the fifth inning to finish the first contest early and secure their first conference win in three weeks. The Loggers, plagued by errors all season, finished with just one missed play.

After a first-game whomping, the Lakers bounced back in the second game with a 5-0 run in the first two innings. The Loggers responded late with two runs in the fifth and another three in the sixth, but Kalispell’s lone fifth-inning score was enough to hold Libby off from a Monday-night sweep. The second game finished 6-5 for the Lakers.

The Loggers play the Capitol Senators Wednesday night at 6:05 at Lee Gehring Field.
