New downtown Libby coffee shop a family affair
Customers couldn’t wait to see what a new ‘family affair’ business had to offer.
At 10 a.m. on Saturday, the grand opening of AuntT’s Coffee Corner had customers waiting in line before the ribbon was cut.
The shop is truly aunt “T’s” coffee shop. The owner, Tracy Vincent, and two nieces, manager Ashley and barista Jessica Shaw run the store together.
Vincent, a retired software engineer and her husband, Martin Vincent, a software engineer, moved to Libby in 2014 and decided to open up a small coffee shop as a break from their former, corporate lives.
“I love the small town and I have been visiting Libby for a long long time, so it’s always been special to me,” Vincent said. “We are excited to be a part for the community. We want to be a part of the community.”
Coffee, smoothies, blended coffee, fresh squeezed lemonade, flavored lemonade, lattes and espressos are served. However, the shop doesn’t just serve drinks. Food is available from breakfast sandwiches, scrambles, bagels, paninis, quesadillas, specials on pork roast sliders and a soup of the day. They use all natural syrup in their flavored drinks and their coffee is locally sourced. According to Vincent, she tries to feature as many locally-sourced products as she can.
The shop has ample seating room and while it is located inside the Mineral Plaza, the shop has natural light from the windows outside. The shop is decorated with custom tables, signs and featured work from local artists. Photographs by Lindy Bouer and Shaun Andrews and paintings from Judy Soust-Harrell are for sale. In the near future, Ashley and Jess Shaw will also sell their artwork.
Vincent plans on opening a crafting corner club and studio in the space in the fall, where members can pay a membership fee and utilize the space for scrapbooking, glass fusing, stained glass, rock cutting and polishing and wood burning in the fall. For people looking to learn how to craft, classes will be offered, Vincent said.
Vincent also plans to do family game nights, and morning storytime for kids at the shop. “The moms can get coffee and the kids can listen to the story,” Vincent said.
The coffee shop is located at 417 Mineral Avenue, Suite Six.
