Suspicious black garbage bag found near dumpster
July 8-9
July 8, 1 a.m. - A local resident reported that their daughter and boyfriend were smoking marijuana. The couple was followed and arrested for drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of children.
July 8, 7:30 a.m. - A suspicious black garbage bag was spotted in front of dumpster at Pioneer Park. The garbage bag looked as if it was dragged out by a bear.
July 8, 8 a.m. - A bottle of prescription drugs containing steel shots was found near Highway 2 and Port Authority.
July 8, noon - The Northwest Community Health Center reported to dispatch they had a dog bite victim.
July 8, 1 p.m. - Police responded to a report on Mineral of reckless driver almost hitting other cars. Police caught up with the driver and cited them for careless driving.
July 8, 2:30 p.m. - A Highway 2 resident reported that he looked out his back window and saw a woman with long blonde hair in a ponytail wearing a baseball cap, blue jeans and a T-shirt sitting in a field. The female noticed the resident looking at her, stuffed something into her duffel bag and took off across the field.
July 8, 7:30 p.m. - Libby Volunteer Ambulance paged dispatch to report that an elderly woman on Edgewater Drive had fallen and then complained of lower back pain.
July 8, 10 p.m. - A California Avenue resident called to report that his mother had fallen in a hot tub. The mother was not injured, but needed assistance getting up.
July 9, 2:20 a.m. - Police responded to a report that six men had left a bar on Main Avenue and were throwing beer bottles and rocks into the street.
July 9, 10 a.m. - Another scam phone call was reported, this one claiming to be awarding a Disney Theme Park Vacation. According to the dispatch call log, the caller was very evasive when asked where he was calling from, but caller’s number appeared on caller ID.
July 9, 1 p.m. - A Forest Drive resident called to report a criminal trespass on their neighbor’s yard. The caller advised dispatch that his neighbors were in Washington, and told the caller to call police if they spotted anyone at the house. The black Dodge pickup attempted to hook the boat up. The assailant had previously lived with the neighbor at one time, but had been removed by relatives.
July 9, 1 p.m. - A report came in from Haul Road, advising dispatch of blue smoke coming from across the river. The forest service responded and put out a fire on the hill side.
July 9, 3:30 p.m. - A mother reported that her adult son was bitten by two yellow labrador dogs while they were camping near Kilbrennan Lake.
July 9, 8:30 p.m. - Cabinet Peaks Medical Center called to report that a male individual had been argumentative to their ER staff.
