The Big Sky Bash on Saturday night featured food, dancing and entertainment.

“I’m sorry ya’ll have to wake up to this every morning,” John Michael Montgomery said jokingly as he greeted the crowd at J. Niels Park.

The promise of rain had ticket-buyers apprehensive, but shortly before the concert started the rain stopped and the sun came out.

Hundreds of people gathered around and set up folding chairs, ate food, drank beer, enjoyed the sun and waited patiently for the concert to commence.

At 6:30, the Devon Wade Band kicked off the show with covers of classic country and rock songs, including ‘Sweet Home Alabama.’

After the Devon Wade Band finished, Montgomery and his band took the audience down memory lane with his popular songs from the 1990s including “I Swear,” “I Can Love You Like That” and “Auction.”

As Montgomery and his band played, people lined up in front of the stage and swayed back and forth; couples and friends danced together and many people sang along to the songs.

When Montgomery and his band left the stage for the first time, audience members cheered for an encore.

They got what they asked for as Montgomery and his band came back on stage to play more of his country tunes.

The Devon Wade Band came back on stage at 10:30 to wrap the concert up.
