Marjorie Nolan

94, of Libby

Marjorie E. Nolan, 94, of Libby, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, of natural causes at the Libby Care Center. She was born Nov. 7, 1921, in Libby, to George W. and Blanche (Skinner) Heath. Marjorie was a true Libby native — she lived all her life in Libby. She married Dorman Nolan on Oct. 16, 1941, and together they had three children: Darlene, Dorman and Duane.

Marjorie worked at J.C. Penney’s before their twin boys were born. Then she was a stay-at-home mom until she started clerking at Hafferman’s Grocery, next working at Geringer’s Hardware store. She then went to work in the County Assessor’s office at the courthouse and she was elected County Assessor, a position she held until she retired.

Marjorie and Dorman loved camping, fishing, square dancing and spending time with their family and friends. They became snowbirds, traveling to Arizona for the winter. The Assembly of God church was definitely a huge part of Marjorie’s life. She was very involved in all areas until her health started to fail.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dorman and their son, Duane.

Survivors include her daughter Darlene (Gene) Auge; her son, Dorman (Carrie) Nolan; two brothers, Melvin Heath and Gary (Pat) Heath; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Marjorie’s life will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, at the Libby Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, at Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby. Online condolences and memories may be shared by visiting www.schnackenbergfh.com.
