Greenchain falls to Bonners Ferry
The grapplers of the Greenchain traveled to Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Tuesday night and suffered defeat at the hands of the Badgers, 46-31 in the dual match.
Greenchain coach Kelly Morford said the final results don’t paint an accurate picture of his wrestlers, though, as there were a number of forfeits in the dual due to holes in the roster.
“The official results don’t show the whole picture, as there are a lot of forfeits, but we wrestled quite a few mixer matches and had a lot of success,” he said. “I am just proud of how our kids have just kept grinding through the season. They are working hard and we will just work to stay as fresh and sharp as possible going forward.”
As the season winds down Morford and the team are focused on the upcoming divisional and state tournaments and preparing their young wrestlers for those events. He said the team is making great progress and he is looking forward to the post-season.
“I am continually pleased with our effort and performance the further we get into the season,” he said. “We are in the part of the season where we are tweaking small details of our technique and getting dialed in for the post season. We have been working on getting off the bottom and we have been much improved in that area. That will be key in those close matches at divisionals.”
