Sandy Heinlein, patient account representative at Cabinet Peaks Medical Center, recently completed a certification course and has become a state-licensed insurance navigator.

Heinlein traveled to Missoula in November of this past year where she went through an intense training course and passed an examination verifying her knowledge of the Montana Health Insurance Exchange and Montana Medicaid Expansion, which is a part of the Affordable Care Act and has a potential to insure many in our community that have previously gone uninsured.

“This is a courtesy to our patients and small businesses in our community to help them understand their insurance options under the Affordable Care Act,” she said. “I am certified to assist our community in understanding new programs, taking advantage of consumer protections and navigating the health insurance system to find the most affordable coverage that meets their needs.”

Heinlein has worked for Cabinet Peaks Medical Center for 14 years, and has worked for insurance companies or medical providers for 30 years.
