Loggers thump visiting Lions

The Loggers controlled the opening tip-off in their Tuesday night game against the visiting Lions of Lincoln County High School and stayed in control for the next 32 minutes, beating Eureka 56-33.

Libby’s boys outscored the Lions in the first quarter 10-5, with strong play from Erik Lauer in the paint. Lauer finished the night with 12 points on three field goals and six-of-seven shooting from the free throw line.

The Lions kept pace during the second period, but couldn’t gain any ground. The half ended with Libby taking a 17-12 lead into the locker room.

The Loggers poured it on in the third quarter, running up 20 points to the Lions eight. They continued to pour fuel on the flames in the fourth quarter, adding another 19 to the Lions’ 13. The game ended at 56-33.
