Jan. 1, 2016

• A woman from Matilas Drive called 911 to report she had been assaulted by her boyfriend who had been drinking. A 19-year-old man with a blood alcohol content of .172 was arrested.

• A 21-year-old man was arrested after his girlfriend reportedly told her mother that the man had entered her home and stolen her EBT card, leaving the area in a vehicle with another woman.

• A state highway employee called to report a person who appeared to be passed out behind the wheel in the middle of the highway.

• A man was arrested in Libby for testing positive for alcohol use while on the 24/7 monitoring program.

• A woman requested police assistance in notifying her brother of her father’s passing.

• An accident was reported at the intersection of Farm to Market Road and U.S. Highway 2.

• A caller from Troy wanted deputies to note a neighbor trespassed on his property. The caller did not request any law enforcement assistance, just wanted it noted.

• A caller reported a man sitting in a vehicle in a school bus turnout on Swede Mountain Road. The caller suspected the man may have needed medical assistance. While the caller was speaking to dispatch the man woke up and advised dispatch he was just waiting for a phone call.

• A man was arrested on Park Street for driving with a suspended license and no insurance after a caller reported a grey pickup truck speeding through a local trailer court.

• A chimney fire was reported at a residence on Minnesota Avenue. When the homeowner was contacted, she reported everything was OK, she was just burning papers.

• An attempted burglary was reported at a residence on Spencer Hill Avenue.

 

Jan. 2, 2016

• A caller on Garden Road requested law enforcement assistance with a man who wouldn’t leave his property.

• A caller from a local trailer court reported the theft of items from his residence while we has away.

• Fish, Wildlife & Parks officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a dead bear in the back of a truck at a local convenience store.

• A woman contacted the Sheriff’s Office to ask how to get her daughter’s belongings from her ex-husband’s house.

• A man was transported to the hospital after being discovered unconscious in a vehicle parked in a driveway.

• A caller on Kootenai Avenue reported a neighbor for shooting off a firearm for the second night in a row.

 

Jan. 3, 2016

• A man was arrested on Kootenai River Bridge following reports that he was running around in the road, impeding traffic and shouting obscenities. Further assistance was requested after the arrest as the man reportedly suffered a self-inflicted head injury from banging his head against the cell.
