Fire department hit 107 calls in 2015

Last year was about average for the Libby Volunteer Fire Deparment. 

According to the 2015 annual report, the department responded to 107 calls, five fewer than the annual average of 112 since 2000. The average number of personnel responding to each call was 17, with an average response time of under 10 minutes. The response time of nine minutes, 12 seconds, is the time elapsed between the initial dispatch call and the arrival of all firefighting apparatus on scene. 

The response time for properties within city limits was six minutes, nine seconds, for calls outside city limits but within the Libby Rural Fire District, crews were on-scene in eight minutes, 24 seconds. The longest response time was for fire calls outside the boundaries of the fire district, which were fully staffed in an average of 14.8 minutes.

The first response crew, Engine Six, was out of the fire hall and en route to the scene in an average of four minutes, 26 seconds during 2015.

The department members and volunteers participated in 2,446 hours of training during the year.
