Feb. 5, 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.: The Libby Friends of the Library are having a book sale. The entrance is on Main Street across from the post office.  Stop by and check out the books, movies and music cds. It’s a great way to support your library.

Feb. 9, 10 a.m.: Preschool story time at the Libby library features Mix It Up! and more. Some colors can stand on their own and others are a combination of two colors. How does this happen? We’ll do our own mixing with shaving cream and food coloring to discover what colors are primary and what colors are secondary.

Feb. 10, 1 p.m.: The Troy Friends of the Library meeting at the Troy library.

Feb. 11, 4 p.m.: Afterschool Program for children age five through 12 at Libby Elementary School for Spy Gadgets. A spy is only as good as his gadget right? Wrong! Spies need to be able to use whatever is available to get the job done.  We’ll make our own magnifying glass and marshmallow shooters with everyday items.

Feb. 13: The libraries will be closed in observance of Presidents’ Day.

Feb. 16, 10 a.m.: Preschool story time at the Libby library for Maisy’s Rainbow Dream and more. Rainbows are a beautiful and full of color! Once we look at what colors make a rainbow we’ll make our own to take home.

Feb. 18, 4 p.m.: Afterschool Program, ages 5-12 - Join us at the Libby Elementary School for Spy Secrets. Spies have to be able to communicate secretly with one another and keep vital information out of enemy hands. We’ll write and decode secret messages using different ciphers and invisible ink.

Feb. 23, 10 a.m.: Preschool story time at the Libby library for My Many Colored Days and more. Emotions are bright and unique like colors. Does yellow suggest happiness? Is blue peaceful? We’ll look at how colors are a great way to express our feelings with each other.

Feb. 26: Amnesty Day - The last Friday of every month is Amnesty Day at the Lincoln County libraries. However, due to the holidays, this month’s amnesty day is earlier than normal. Any materials less than 90 days overdue which are returned in good condition to any of the three libraries on that day will have all penalties waived.  Overdue interlibrary loan materials are not included.

Feb. 27, 11 a.m.: Book discussion at the Libby library for “A Hot Drink and A Good Book,” our monthly book discussion. This month features All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. The novel interweaves the lives of Marie-Laure and Werner and illuminates the ways, against all odds, that people try to be good to one another. Copies are available for checkout at the library.
