The Lady Trojans completed their weekend sweep Saturday evening with a 49-35 win over Thompson Falls, following their victory over the Lady Loggers of Libby Friday night.

“This was definitely a fun weekend for the Lady Trojans and their fans,” head coach Justin Young said.

The Lady Trojans started out flat against the Lady Bluehawks, scoring just 13 points in the first half. The Lady Trojans didn’t give up, though. In the third half, fueled by three three-pointers from Olivia Roach, the Troy ladies reeled off 22 points while holding the Thompson Falls girls to just 13. The Lady Trojans added another 14 in the fourth to secure the victory.

“After riding the high of the previous night’s win over Libby, the Lady Trojans seemed to come out a little flat to start the game against Thomson Falls,” Young said. “We couldn’t buy a bucket the first half. The girls came out cold and had a hard time finding the basket. By halftime we were down 21 to 13. In the third quarter the girls came out rolling. Aurora Becquart got four points in back to back possessions and Olivia Roach knocked down three three-pointers to propel us to a 22-9 third quarter, which gave us a 35 to 30 lead. Olivia came in and saved our bacon. She is the scrapper on the team. She is a work horse and we always ask her to do the dirty jobs such as diving for loose balls, and playing full court defense. I was thrilled to see her have a huge game for us.”
