Gregory Deloss Harrison Libby High School 1965.

Gregory “Greg” Deloss Harrison, 69, of Libby, passed away on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 2016. He was born on July 27, 1947 in Missoula. In 1960, the family moved to Libby where his father, Floyd, managed Johnie’s Auto Parts and his mother, Marcella, operated Marcy’s Beauty Shop. Greg attended Asa Wood Elementary and graduated from Libby High School in 1965.

He worked with his father at Johnie’s Auto Parts before moving to Spokane, Wash. where he married Connie Johnson and had a daughter, Catina Lee and grandson, Skylar.

Greg was an authentic Montana outdoorsman of every season who hunted and fished throughout the Northwest. He returned to Libby where he established his business, Greg’s Guns. He held a Federal Firearms License, was a gunsmith, reloader and an online trader of ammunition, coins and stamps. Late in life, Greg worked at the Senior Center before he retired.

A self-taught historian, he could talk about the history of just about everything. Cooking was another passion. He enjoyed yard sailing and overflowing storage units attest to his maxim that you never know when something will come in handy. Greg had a dry wit and was tuned in to the ironies in life. He was kind and humble to the bone.

Greg was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, a North American Hunting Club Life Member, member of the Marlin Firearms Collector’s Society, International Ammunition Association, Kansas Cartridge Collector’s Association and Libby’s Senior Center.

Greg was preceded in death by his daughter Celina Harrison; parents Floyd and Marcella Harrison; grandparents Grover and Olga Collins and Vivian Hull; brother James Collins Jensen; niece Maryn Lee Beck; and nephew Jay Grant William Miller. He is survived by his daughter Catina Lee Johnson and grandson Skylar Buchta of Boise, Idaho; sister Marcia Jensen-Middlebrook and brother-in-law John “Jack” Middlebrook of Missoula; brother Randy Grover Harrison and wife Jan of Rio Verde, Ariz.; sister-in-law Jan of Royal, Ark.; aunt Grace of Leavenworth, Wash.; niece Shawna Beck Sullivan (James) and great-nephew Walker Sullivan of Braintree, Mass.; niece Riki Lyn Beck of Missoula; niece Chandra Marcella Harrison Costanios (Emory) and great-nephew Elijah Costanios of Carmel, Ind.; niece Jessica Lee Harrison Claypool (Patrick) and great-nephew Kaleb Lee Claypool of Maple Valley, Wash.; and by many cousins.

Cremation has occurred and at Greg’s request there will be no services. Thanks to Doctors Hall, Ercanbrack, Ness and staff at Cabinet Peaks Medical Center in Libby and Northwest Oncology Center in Kalispell for Greg’s care. Thanks also to Shauna Firestone and staff at Libby’s Lodge of Love, Hospice Home Options and staff, and to his special friends who were there when needed. The family suggests memorial contributions in Greg’s name be made to the NRA, Libby’s Senior Center or charity of your choice.
