Libby Loggers defeat Troy Trojans

On Tuesday, the Libby Loggers were able to hold down the court for a 51-26 victory against the neighboring Troy Trojans.

Throughout the game, Libby outscored the Trojans 16-8, 10-2, 14-7, 11-9 in the four quarters.

Libby’s Ryan Nagle led the team to the win, scoring 18 with Ryggs Johnston adding 13. Erik Lauer scored eight, Collin Maloney scored five, Nick Jones scored two and JJ Davis scored one.

On Troy’s side, Tucker Winn led the team with nine points, Hank Hurtung and Dillon Savage each scored four. Riley Fruend scored three. Zach Cotton, Jordan Day and Nathan Chapel each added two points for the team.

Hurtung led rebounding with 8 and Dillion had 3 assists.

On Libby’s side, 44 percent of their shots were made, compared to Troy’s 22 percent.

The Loggers made 22 percent of their three-point shots, and the Trojans made 18 percent.

The Trojans outscored the Loggers in free-throws, with 41 percent to the Loggers’ 29.

In terms of rebounds, the Loggers grabbed 10 defensive rebounds and 24 offensive rebounds, totalling 34, while the Trojans grabbed 24 in total with three offensive rebounds and 21 defensive rebounds.

The Loggers also had eight steals, one block, 12 turnovers, zero personal fouls, three bench points, 11 second chance points, and 13 points off turnovers.

The Trojans had three steals, 18 turnovers, zero personal fouls, nine bench points, three second chance points, and two points off turnovers.
