Loggers win one and lose one over weekend

The Libby Loggers triumphed over Thompson Falls on Friday, with a final score of 51-42, but lost to Bigfork 50-67.
From the start, the Loggers seemed destined to win the match, with turnovers and speed on their side, they brought the first period to 11-7.
Then, the opposing team fought back in a vengeance, bringing the second period 16-18.
In the third period, the Loggers got their momentum back, bringing the period 8-5, and ultimately scoring 16 points over Thompson Falls’ 12 in the final period.
The team made 40 percent of their shots, 18 percent of their three point attempts, and 64 percent of their free throws.
They also tied with Thompson Falls for rebounds with 25, with nine offensive rebounds and 16 defensive rebounds.
The team also made nine assists, one steal and three blocks.
With zero personal fouls, the Loggers had nine turnovers to Thompson Falls 13.
On Saturday, the Loggers faced off against Bigfork, but the Vikings took the win with 50-67.
Bigfork’s 21-8 advantage in the third period helped them win the game, but Libby bounced back in the last period.
Erik Lauer led the team with 16 points and Ryggs Johnston had 15 points.
After the weekend, the Loggers are now 1-1 in conference and 2-3 total.
