Eugene L. Scalf

Eugene L. Scalf, 75, died on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016 at Cabinet Peaks Medical Center in Libby. He was born on May 28, 1941 at Weed, California to Clifford and Thelma (Reese) Scalf. Gene attended schools in Redding, California. He enlisted in the U.S. Army 4th Infantry Division. Gene started working in construction after his military service. He married Sandra Shepard, Sept. 4, 1966 in Reno, Nevada. They moved to Libby in late 1967 and Gene went to work on the Libby Dam. He worked for Morrison Knudsen Construction for over 40 years. He retired in 1994. Gene loved fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his wife Sandra Scalf, Libby; children Chris Scalf, Calif.; Terry Scalf, Wash.; Cliff Scalf, Michelle Scalf (Bryan), all of Libby; Bobby Scalf, Calif.; a sister Judy Lawrence (Dennis), Calif.; a brother Raymond Scalf, Calif.; 10 grandchildren Melissa, Melanie, Brittanie, Brandon, Cody, Faith, Brooklynn, Ashley, Amber, Amanda and 18 great-grandchildren.
