The Troy Trojans basketball team is looking to give it their all this season.

The “veteran” team, as head coach Jerry Mee said, is made up of seven seniors, two juniors and one sophomore.

Currently, the Trojans are trying to get in shape to compete for their first game, Mee said that practices are going well.

Mee prides himself on the team, who he said are very respectful athletes with good attitudes.

“They’re a good, hard-working group of young men,” Mee said.

The team is currently working on becoming an equally offensive and defensive team. Mee said that the team’s biggest strengths are quickness and shooting, and once they get better at rebounding, they’ll be able to compete well.

“I expect us to do the best that we can and give it our all,” Mee said. “Hopefully we’ll have a balanced attack, with a lot of guys doing different things and a lot of guys scoring.

Mee said that his key players are senior guard Dillon Savage, senior guard Mason Chapel, junior guard Zach Cotten, senior forward Noah Capalerro, senior guard Tucker Winn and senior center Hank Hartuck.

The Troy Trojans will take on the Stillwater Cougars next Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
