Leroy Douglas Nixon, 74, of Libby

| August 26, 2016 10:43 AM

Leroy Douglas Nixon, aged 74, died at Kalispell Regional Medical Center, on Thursday, Aug. 11. He was born on April 7, 1942 to Worth and Lela Nixon in Kalispell.

Lost a mountain of a man today. A husband, daddy, friend, colleague, logger, hunter, fisherman, gardener, reader, one who took in the neighborhood kids and family friends. He was never afraid to do whatever it took to feed his family or pay the bills. He was always up to tickle you ‘til you wet yourself or cried from laughing. Took your pinkie and bent it till you hollered uncle. The man who protected and provided for his wife and two daughters. Who sat on the porch with his wife and helped me so. My uncle Doug and my rock. We will miss you and always love you. And them damn whisker burns, what the heck!! Love you. Wesley Hedahl.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ray Nixon.

He leaves to cherish his memory his widow, Mrs. Allyson Nixon; daughter, Kimberly Nixon Sagen; daughter, Lisa Nixon Richard (Jerome); son, Brian Schull (Connie); son, Clint Schull (Missy); his pride and joy, the grandchildren, Michel (Laura and four children), Clay, Madelle, Bryana, Jade, Ethan and little Scott; brother, Albert Nixon; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Aug. 29, 2016 at the Libby Christian Church, 100 Kootenai River Road, Libby. Arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.schnackenbergfh.com.
