August 12, 1:30 a.m. — A camper called to report that an older man had just come to her tent asking if she wanted company. When she told him to leave, he shined a flashlight into her tent.

August 12, 11 a.m. — Dispatch received a call about a criminal trespass after a local restaurant manager told police that a man had been coming into the establishment and panhandling customers.

August 12, 11:45 a.m. — An individual came into the Libby Dispatch lobby to speak with a deputy regarding a forged title.

August 12, noon — A hit-and-run was reported in a local restaurant parking lot.

August 12, 5 p.m. — Police responded to a report that a homeless individual was walking around Northwood Avenue yelling obscenities and causing a disturbance.

August 12, 6 p.m. — On Highway 2 a traffic accident was reported when a vehicle hit a stop sign and power pole and then left the scene.

August 12, 6:30 p.m. — Dispatch received a call from a woman on Highway 37 reporting that an individual approached her, asking for a ride. When she refused, the man tried to pull her pants down.

August 12, 7 p.m. — Police responded to a call of 16 cattle panels and water stolen. The report states that the suspect broke through the locked gate.

August 12, 8 p.m. — A Shaughnessy Hill Road resident called to report a large black bear wandering around his property in a residential area.

August 13, noon — A woman was allegedly caught shoplifting a pair of shoes.

August 13, 2 p.m. — A Libby resident reported a criminal trespass when her neighbor’s visitors parked on her posted, private drive.

August 13, 4 p.m. — A caller told dispatch they saw a lot of smoke northwest of Turner Mountain.

August 13, 9 p.m. — Off of Highway 2, individuals were reported to have been squatting and doing drugs in an abandoned house.

August 13, 10:30 p.m. — A resident on Conifer Road reported barking dogs. The caller added that this had been an ongoing issue.

August 13, 2 a.m. — Police responded to a fight between two men and one woman on the side of Highway 2, near Town Pump.

August 14, 4:30 p.m. — A caller told dispatch that she had lost her .38 Taurus revolver on Highway 2.

August 14, 7 p.m. — A resident called to report that he struck a Golden Labrador Retriever with his vehicle. The man reported that the dog had a collar but no tags. The vehicle sustained between $500 and $1,000 damage.

August 14, 9:43 p.m. — Someone called to report a man going through the donation bin at a local thrift store. Law enforcement officers spoke with the man at Libby Cafe, no arrests were made.

August 14, 11 p.m. — Police responded to a resident’s call of drug use going on in his garage. The resident gave them permission to search.

August 14, 11:30 p.m. — A resident called to report a possible traffic accident between two vehicles. When police responded to the scene, they questioned two individuals in the area who did not see any accident. When they spoke with the resident who called in the report, the man was reportedly very intoxicated.
