Arnold Eugene Kelly, 85, of Libby

Arnold E. Kelley, 85, of Libby, died July 28, 2016 at his home in Libby of natural causes. He was born Nov. 5, 1930 in Northome, Minn., to Eugene and Charlotte (Flanders) Kelley. He married Vela in 1948 in Toledo, Ore. In 1998, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They moved to Libby in 1958. Arnold worked as a sawmill millwright for J. Neils Lumber Co., St. Regis Lumber Co. and Champion International. Over the years, Arnold built numerous houses in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana. He was a gifted carpenter and mechanic and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also prospected in the Silver Butte country. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be missed by all who loved him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vela V.; daughter Arnelda (Neddie); and brothers and sisters Richard, Arlyse, Barbra, Keith, Clifford and Lornie and granddaughter Tamara Cook.

Survivors include his sons Darald Kelley (Peggy) and Doug Kelley (Marylin); his brother, Dale Kelley (Carol); numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
