July 29, 4:45 a.m. — An individual on Highway 2 called to report one brown and one white horse on the highway.
July 29, 9 a.m. — A caller reported to dispatch that a chip truck was driving all over the road. The caller did not get the plate number or the truck’s company.
July 29, 9 a.m. — A man told dispatch that three cows were near the road on Highway 56. The man later called back to report that the cows were no longer near the road.
July 29, 11:30 a.m. — Several 911 calls came in regarding a traffic accident on Highway 2. Two individuals were transported to Cabinet Peaks Medical Center.
July 29, 3:30 p.m. — A woman called to report that a male individual had just broken the windshield on her parked vehicle. The police were unable to find a suspect.
July 29, 6 p.m. — Troy dispatch told police that a caller reported hearing gunshots in the woods behind his residence.
July 29, 10 p.m. — A caller reported that individuals had been throwing fireworks into an abandoned trailer near Granite Creek road.
July 30, 7 p.m. — A local bar called dispatch to report a theft. The bar employee reported that visitors called in an order but did not realize that the restaurant was not in Libby. The visitor did not pick up the food so the employee wanted to file a theft report. Dispatch told the caller that this was a civil issue.
July 30, 7:30 p.m. — A caller advised that a tree had fallen on a power line and had started a fire. The fire department responded and left the scene by 9 p.m.
July 30, 8:45 p.m. — A suspicious vehicle was reported near Houghton Creek. The caller reported that the vehicle had been sitting there for a few hours with the engine switched on. The vehicle had a shotgun sitting on the dash with a cell phone on the seat. The caller reported multiple weapons and multiple forms of ammunition in sight within the vehicle.
July 30, 10 p.m. — A caller in the Flower Creek area reported smoke in the Cabinet Mountains.
July 31, 4:30 a.m. — Dispatch received a call that a vehicle had hit a deer. No injuries or damage was reported, and the deer fled the scene.
July 31, 8 a.m. — A resident called to report that his neighbor’s dog killed off the last of his cats.
July 31, 9 a.m. — A suspicious female was spotted on California Avenue pushing a stroller. The caller wanted welfare to check on the child. When an officer spoke to the female and children, they seemed fine.
July 31, 10 a.m. — A Eureka hotel reported that someone had tried to break into a unit and damaged the door.
July 31, 11 a.m. — Cabinet Peaks Medical Center told police that they had a dog bite victim come in from the Warland Creek Campground.
July 31, 11 a.m. — An individual reported that they were in town for a funeral and someone had stolen their daughter’s medication from her purse.
July 31, 5:30 p.m. — Police responded to a report that a boat had run aground in middle of the Kootenai River. There were six people on the boat, ages 50 to 60. The caller helped them get unstuck once, and they turned their motor on and ran aground farther. Another boater eventually helped move the marooned boat along.
July 31, 6 p.m. — A resident reported that there was a fire 15 miles from their residence near Thompson Falls.
July 31, 8 p.m. — A caller dialed 911 to report that they had taken someone to prompt care yesterday for strep throat and they wanted help getting better medication. The caller told dispatch that the individual was now having trouble breathing.
July 31, 8 p.m. — A Corner Road resident called to report a break-in incident. The resident suspected her former roommate came to steal her jewelry, blu-ray player and food.
