The Lady Loggers had the visiting Mission-Arlee-Charlo cooperative team on the ropes early in Thursday’s softball game at Libby, but couldn’t hang on to the lead. Libby’s girls fell to the visiting Lady Bulldogs, 10-9.

The Lady Loggers racked up two runs in each of the first two innings, and five in the third, while holding the visitors scoreless. But as Libby’s bats went cold, the girls from Mission woke up. The visitors pushed three runners across the plate in the top of the fourth, sparked by a homer from Ran Dee Charlo, while holding the home team scoreless. They piled on four more in the top of the fifth to close the gap to 9-7. The Lady Loggers were unable to answer with any runs of their own.

In the sixth, the Lady Bulldogs narrowed the gap with another run the Lady Loggers couldn’t answer in the bottom of the inning. They took the lead with two in the seventh, and held the Lady Loggers scoreless to secure the hard-fought win.
