Previous allegations were proven false

Once again a candidate for the office of Lincoln County Commissioner, I realize some voters may have lingering questions regarding the false allegations I faced in 1998-1999. The following factual account is provided to directly address those questions.

During the election cycle of 1998, I was subjected to a malicious media attack with false allegations regarding my county mileage and meal reimbursements.

In January 1999, the Attorney General’s Office chose to file these same false charges against me for two alleged felony offenses of fraud and theft from Lincoln County.

In May 1999, I went to trial in District Court in Lake County before a jury to face these false charges. The prosecution rested their case after a day and a half presenting their full testimony and submitting numerous exhibits. My innocence was soundly established by the testimony of these prosecution witnesses under cross examination, publicly revealing the facts in proper context.  Therefore, the District Court Judge ruled via directed verdict that I was not guilty with prejudice.
