Senior Center offers dining and entertainment
The Libby Senior Center has a variety of dining options available for seniors during the month of October, as well as several events planned. Dinners are served every Tuesday and Friday at 5 p.m. and lunches are served each Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Diners requiring home delivery are asked to call the center before noon on Tuesday and Friday for dinner and before 9 a.m. Wednesday for lunch deliveries.
The fun starts Thursay, Oct. 1, with cribbage scheduled from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Friday’s dinner is Swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes, vegetables, dinner rolls, salad and dessert. Pinochle will follow dinner at 7 p.m.
The second week of the month features a dinner of country-fried steak, mashed potatoes, dinner rolls, vegetables, salad bar and tapioca pudding on Tuesday, Oct. 6. Wednesday’s lunch is pizza, taco soup, salad and cookies, with card players to follow in the afternoon. There will be a board meeting at 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8. Friday’s dinner is lasagna, vegetables, garlic bread, salad bar and dessert, followed by pinochle at 7 p.m.
A special birthday dinner is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 13, with oven-fried chicken, mashed potatoes, vegetable, biscuits, salad bar and cake and ice cream for dessert. Wednesday’s lunch of tuna melts, tomato soup, salad and cookies will be followed by afternoon card players. Thursday is a busy day at the Senior Center, with a foot care and blood pressure clinic from 10 a.m. until noon and cribbage from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Friday’s dinner menu boasts Swiss steak, potato wedges, vegetables, dinner rolls, salad bar and dessert, followed by pinochle at 7 p.m.
Dinner on Tuesday, Oct. 20 will be ham with sweet potatoes, vegetables, corn bread, salad bar and lemon bars for dessert. Wednesday lunch features hamburgers, bean soup, salad and cookies, with card players to follow after lunch. Cribbage takes center stage again Thursday from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Friday’s dinner is pork roast, mashed potatoes, vegetables, dinner rolls, salad bar and dessert. Pinochle will wrap up the evening beginning at 7 p.m.
Dinner on Tuesday, Oct. 27 will be creamed chicken with rice, vegetables, biscuits, salad bar and a Jell-O cake. Wednesday the menu takes a different turn with brunch of biscuits and gravy, sausage links, scrambled eggs, salad and muffins, followed by card players. Thursday is cribbage day, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Friday’s dinner of beef tips with mashed potatoes, vegetables, dinner rolls, salad bar and dessert rounds out the month’s menu. Pinochle is set for 7 p.m.
