Libby’s Tim Carvey scored late in the game on a 15-yard run, but it was too little, too late as the Loggers fell hard to the Lincoln County Lions in their homecoming game Friday evening, 46-6.

The Lions poured in 34 points in the first quarter to leave the Loggers in the dust. Quarterback Austyn Sherwood threw four touchdowns in the game, three to James Dunn and one to Bryant Little. Nathan Gentry added two rushing touchdowns and the defensive unit contributed another on a pick-six by Owen Davis.

Sherwood led the Lions in rushing, with 82 yards on eight attempts and was seven for nine with 123 yards in the air. Libby’s Terrell Hergert had 14 runs for 86 yards.

Libby’s next game is also on the road. The Loggers will be visiting Troy for the Trojans’ homecoming game Friday at 7 p.m.

The Loggers are 0-6 on the season, with four games remaining.
