Veterans stand down volunteer meeting 

A mandatory meeting for northwest veterans’ stand down is scheduled for Sept. 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the Harper Erdman Post 1548 VFW building at 114 W. Second Street in Libby. Please call Allen Erickson at 406-250-0698 or Joseph Wade at 406-293-5336 with any questions.

 

Rotary CRAP sale Sept. 26

The Rotary Club of the Kootenai Valley is having a big estate sale in the Asa Wood gym from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26. The members of the Rotary Club are parting with some of their “collectibles, rare and precious,” and will be selling them to raise funds to support Rotary projects in the community.

Anyone wishing to donate their own treasures to the yard sale can contact Mick at 293-1279 or Linda at 293-9213.

 

A.L.E.R.T. seeks two board members

The A.L.E.R.T. Advisory Board is seeking two new members. Prospective members should have a general knowledge of the A.L.E.R.T. program, non-profit leadership and funding and an interest in representing the program in local communities.

Community marketing workshops Sept. 29

Eureka Rural Development Partners Inc. is sponsoring two workshops on marketing and promoting local communities featuring Barbara Wold Sept. 29.

The first workshop, “The Power of Partnerships,” will be from 9 a.m. until noon. The second, “Getting Your Community To Shop Local,”will be from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. There will be a one-hour lunch period in between the workshops, participants can bring their own lunch or box lunches will be available for $10, but an RSVP is requested.

The event is free of charge.

 

Free dance class Sept. 7

A new class, “Dancing for Fun & Exercise,” will begin Sept. 27 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the Libby Volunteer Ambulance barn. Classes will also be held on Oct. 3 and Oct. 11.
