The Lady Loggers soccer team dropped a competitive game against Whitefish, 3-0 Thursday, Sept. 3. The loss drops the Loggers to 0-2 on the season.

“The girls played hard,” head coach, Joe Cik said. “It was our best performance against Whitefish since I’ve been the head coach. I think that says a lot about where we are headed. We didn’t get the win, but I thought it was a good performance. The girls should be proud. They communicated well. The communication has been really good.”

Logger’s goalkeeper, Shannon Reny had another good performance protecting the net.

“She had 13 saves in the first game and 12 in this game,” Cik said. “She’s the best goalkeeper in the state. I don’t think there will be much argument about her getting All-State this year. She has a wonderful attitude. She’s constantly trying to get better and she’s constantly trying to make the team better. She’s one of the best athletes I’ve had the privilege of coaching. She’s only a sophomore and she’s going to continue to get better.”

The Lady Loggers have yet to score a goal this season. Cik said his team needs to be more decisive and confident offensively.

“They need to make quicker decisions,” he said. “Particularly when it comes to shooting the ball. They can’t hesitate, they just have to make the decision and do it.”

This week the Lady Loggers will play in Billings on Friday, Sept 11 and in Laurel on Saturday, Sept. 12.
