Ethel Hamilton

Ethel Hamilton, 100, went home with Jesus on June 16, 2015, at Spokane, Wash. She was born Jan. 1, 1915, the third child of Ben and Inez Barr Hipke at their farm near Mellon, Wis.  She was raised in rural towns and educated in rural schools, later moving to Merrill, Wis.  

She married Ernie Hamilton on Dec. 10, 1938 at Rockford, Ill.  In 1948 they moved to Libby with their two children, Judy and Jim, to be near Ethel’s mother, Inez Anderson. The family were all charter members of Faith Bible Church.  

Ethel enjoyed her years as mother to her two children, Judy and Jim, and later as grandma to her four grandchildren.  

She was preceded in death by her dear husband in 1974; two sisters and two brothers.  

Survivors include daughter Judy Evans, Spokane, Wash.; son Jim Hamilton and wife Lola, Salem, Ore.; four grandchildren Mike, Jeff, Dave and Lisa; great-grandchildren Brandon and wife Ericka; Katie, Trae, William and Mikkel and one great-great-granddaughter Nonica.

Services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at the City of Libby Cemetery. All are welcome. Arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.schnackenbergfh.com.
