Oct. 1
• A caller near Vanderwood and Conifer reported a large black bear in the area. Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks was advised but the bear was not located.
• A caller reported their mailbox had been hit by a car a couple of weeks ago. The driver left a note with a first name and address, but the caller was unable to make contact with the person who hit the mailbox.
• A caller reported a man walking into traffic near Sixth Street and the Asa Wood school. The man was reportedly running into fences and seemed confused.
• A caller reported kids were cooking on a fire in a container near Riverfront Park. Officers responded and arrested one man on charges of failure to appear, criminal possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphrenalia, open container, driving while suspended and a seatbelt violation.
• A caller reported the overnight theft of his backpack and several items.
• A man reported concern regarding comments his daughter overheard on the school bus.
• A caller on Conifer Road reported kids trespassing on a lot next door.
• A toddler was taken to Cabinet Peaks Medical Center after reportedly ingesting a prescription painkiller found on the floor.
• A caller from the Three Corner Trailer Park reported a break-in.
• A caller on Pioneer Road reported a bear getting into garbage cans in the trailer park.
• A caller on Ninth Street reported an individual may have been using drugs in the restroom. Officers disposed of a used needle at Cabinet Peaks Medical Center.
• A caller reported a suspicious vehicle was parked behind his garage and using his electrical outlets.
• A caller reported the theft of vegetables from the community garden.
• A caller reported a large amount of litter left at a campsite on Champion Haul Road, the caller was going to clean it up.
Oct. 2
• A caller reported a juvenile boy and girl riding bikes in the road on U.S. Highway 2.
• A caller near ACM road reported a person had pried open a locked mailbox.
• A caller reported a lost wallet, but didn’t have any idea where it might be.
• A caller on Mountain Meadows Lane reported her boyfriend’s father keeps putting a padlock on their house.
• A man on U.S. Highway 37 requested officers remove a woman from his residence.
• A woman brought a cell phone to the Sheriff’s Office. The phone had been loaned to her.
• Units responded to reports of a couch on fire on Spencer Hill Avenue. The homeowner told responders it wasn’t a couch, but that he’d put out the fire.
• Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of yelling at J. Neils Park and located a group of individuals. None had outstanding warrants and were advised not to drive.
Oct. 3
• A man on Norman Avenue reported the window of his fiancee’s car had been broken.
• A man went into the Sheriff’s Office to report his bank account had been hacked.
• A caller on Vinal Lake Road reported the theft of several items from his father’s residence.
• Deputies responded to a call reporting a “bunch of kids in the road being obnoxious,” near the McGrade School on Farm to Market Road.
• A person turned in an iPhone found in the area of the Kootenai Falls.
• A woman was pulled over for speeding in Troy and arrested for driving while suspended/revoked.
• A woman called from a local convenience store to report possible marijuana use in the restroom.
• A caller reported two men fighting at a local bar. They were heading toward another bar. Deputies separated the parties, who were banned from both bars.
Oct. 4
• A caller requested two intoxicated people be removed from the hospital.
• A caller from Pinewood Lane reported being insulted by juveniles.
• Two individuals went into the Sheriff’s Office to discuss an ongoing harassment issue.
Oct. 5
• A caller reported a combative patient at the hospital.
• A woman from Mineral Avenue called to report an altercation between her daughter and her husband. The daughter left the premises.
Oct. 6
• A caller reported a disturbance at a residence on Florence Road.
• A caller on Pioneer Road reported a bear in their yard.
• An anonymous caller requested to speak with an officer about individuals using drugs.
• A caller from Highway 93 reported the theft of various items from a shop.
• A caller from Mountain Meadow Road reported the theft of an ATV.
• A caller reported vandalism at the community garden.
• The Sheriff’s Office received a tip regarding the location of a fugitive. Two addresses were checked but officers were unable to locate the individual.
• A caller reported the presence of a bear cub near the elementary school.
• A woman from Balsan Avenue reported the theft of items from her vehicle.
• A caller on Education Way reported the presence of a suspicious vehicle on his property.
• Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance complaint to an address on Lincoln Boulevard and arrested one man on an extra-jurisdictional warrant.
Oct. 7
• A woman on Highway 2 reported her boyfriend broke into her house through a window and assaulted her. A 51-year-old man was arrested.
• A caller on Lewis Loop reported a heated domestic disturbance between their neighbors. Officers responded and reported the altercation as verbal only
• A man on Granite Avenue reported an attempted break-in of his vehicle.
