69, of Libby

 

Archie J. “AJ” Becker, Jr., 69, died Oct. 26 at the Libby Care Center in Libby. He was born at Sunnyside, Wash., to Archie J. Becker, Sr. and Ruth Howard Becker on April 19, 1946, and was raised and educated at Sunnyside. Following high school, AJ served in the United States Army and, following his honorable discharge, returned to Sunnyside.

While residing there, he had been employed by Welch’s Juice Company and had also played in a band in the local area.  He married Debbie Watts in 1988 at Mapten, Wash.  They came to Libby in 1991 where they operated a janitorial service until the time of his retirement.

AJ enjoyed the great Montana outdoors where he liked to go camping; as a lifelong musician, he had a love of music and enjoyed studying and reading about history.

Survivors include his wife Debbie and step-son Chris Watts, both of Libby; a sister, Louise Winchell of Selah, Wash.; brothers Jim Becker of Walla Walla, Wash., and Ned Becker of Seattle, Wash.; his mother in law, Luree Stoddard of Libby and granddaughter Sophia Luree Watts.

Services will be Monday, Nov. 2 at 2:00 p.m. at the Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home with interment rites following at the City of Libby Cemetery.  Condolences and memories may be shared online by visiting www.schnackenbergfh.com.
