Sept. 10

• A man reported his vehicle was broken into Aug. 27 at a local clinic and a few miscellaneous items were stolen. He also said a bag and lunchbox were left behind after the theft and that he threw those items away.

• A woman from the Yaak area called to report a telephone scam.

• A woman called to report she let her ex-husband drive her vehicle, but he sold it. The ex-husband said he had a bill of sale for the vehicle.

• Fish and Game officers responded to an address on Cedar Hill Road regarding a possible roadkill salvage. The officer confiscated the deer, but the parties involved would not speak to the officer about the incident.

• A man from Garden Road called to report he and his girlfriend were being harassed.

• A caller on U.S. Highway 2 reported the theft on an antique potato planter. 

• A caller reported a dog locked in a truck without any open windows at a local business. Animal control was notified.

• A theft was reported at Libby High School, arrests were made.

• A man called from a local clinic to report another man threatened him. The suspect then called 911 to report the original caller for harassing him.

• A Libby man was arrested for allegedly violating the term of his probation.

• A woman on Midland Road called to report her neighbor for using a chainsaw. The noise woke her baby.

• A woman on Cedar Hill Road reported her neighbor opened her gate and let her goat and horse out. She said this is an ongoing issue.

• Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked at an area business. The vehicle’s occupant said he was parked there to use his cell phone.

• A woman was booked into the Lincoln County jail on a warrant for failing to appear. She was extradited from Wheatland County.

 

Sept. 11

• Sheriff’s deputies chased a suspicious person in the Klatawah and Dome Mountain Road area, but were unable to catch the suspect.

• A caller reported the loss of a cell phone at the rest area at junction of U.S. 2 and U.S. 56.

• An abandoned bicycle was reported in the alley behind the Libby post office.

• Sheriff’s deputies served a trespass order and restraining order on a man at a local clinic who was reportedly harassing the staff.

• A sheriff’s deputy struck a deer en route to a call on Pine Creek Road.

• A woman from Louisiana Avenue reported finding a baseball with her name and foul language written on it.

• A man on U.S. Highway 2 reported the theft of two chainsaws.

• A caller from a business on Mineral Avenue reported a person in the business making employees uncomfortable.

• A woman from the Bellevue Trailer Court reported someone siphoned gas from her tank, again.

• A woman was arrestd for shoplifting at a local store.

• A caller reported an assault on a pregnant woman at the Three Corners Trailer Park.

• A caller on Frazey Loop reported a neighbor for shaking a four-year-old child.

• A caller on City Service Road reported a bear sighting.

• A woman on Bull Lake Road reported her neighbor for driving on her road without permission or easement.

• A caller on Shaughnessy Hill Road reported a bear in his garage.

• Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance on Westgate Avenue. The altercation was reported as verbal only and the woman was given a ride to a local bar and casino.

• A woman on Scenery Road called to report a suspicious person in her back yard. The person turned out to be a black bear.

 

Sept. 12

• A woman called to report her vehicle window was smashed and her purse was stolen.

• A caller using 911 reported a black SUV clipped a student on a bicycle near Libby High School. The student was uninjured.

• Troy dispatch called to notify animal control of a horse and mule running down River Road.

• A caller on Regh Avenue reported break-ins to two vehicles.

• A caller on Poplar reported a bear cub in an apple tree.

• A caller from a local business reported finding possible stolen items in a storage shed.

• A woman came into the Sheriff’s Office to turn in some keys she found in the road.

• A woman on Old Bear Creek Road called dispatch to report her husband was threatening her and trying to take her phone. The call was cut off. Officers responded and reported the situation was resolved.

• A Libby man was arrested for violating probation.

• A called from Paradise Place reported an intoxicated man for trespassing in a guest house.

• A fire was reported on Kootenai River Road.

• A man called to report he had been assaulted behind a bar in Troy.
