Letter to the Editor:

Don’t you just love this place we call home? Do you sometimes wish you could help make Lincoln County even better? There are lots of ways to help, but how can we find out what volunteer opportunities are available or that suit us as individuals? Coming up on Tuesday, Nov. 10 is an event that will help you find ways to answer those questions.

RSVP Montana, JustServe.org and The Heritage Museum, along with other local volunteer organizations, are holding a volunteer fair. The event is being hosted by The Venture Inn in their Fjord Room from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. The event is informal and there will be plenty of time to visit individually with non-profit and public organizations to learn how they are contributing to our community as well as what areas they need volunteers to serve.

By attending, not only can you learn about ways to get involved, but you will be entered for some wonderful door prizes. If you already volunteer, bring a friend and stop by to say hi and enter to win.

Volunteering: A little bit goes a long way and a lot goes even further. Some volunteer positions include: Hunting, fishing, quilting, food preparation, baking, cooking, Facebook monitoring, animal socializing, tutoring children, senior care monitoring, yard work, gardening, mechanical work, data entry, sales, veterans assistance, wood working, painting and event help, just to name a few.

Volunteering can be as little or as much as you want to do. It could be a one-hour task during an envent one time a year or volunteering every day thoughout the year. You are the boss as to how much you want to serve and where you want to serve. Every little bit you do is appreciated and makes a big difference.

There is no charge to attend the event and it is open to everyone of all ages. For more information call Terry Peck or RSVP Montana at 291-2271.
