Give a Helping Hand for Christmas accepting applications and donations

The Give a Helping Hand for Christmas program is now accepting applications from families in need of assistance for Christmas 2015.

To apply for the program documentation of income and/or need is required. Applicants should also provide the name, age and gender of the child(ren) and one want and one need with exact clothing sizes.

Only parents or legal guardians can sign up a child for the program. For more information or to sign up for assistance or to help contact Fran Stanton at 295-4542. The sign-up deadline is Nov. 1.

 

AARP Smart Driver courses

The American Association of Retired Persons has announced the November AARP Smart Driver course schedule. Two courses are scheduled for south Lincoln County in November.

Nov. 9, at the Troy United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Walk-ins welcome!  Please call 751-4500 for a reservation, and Nov. 16 at the Libby Christian Church from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.  Please call 283-7000 for a reservation.

 

Montana Wilderness Association Winter Walks Program seeks input, leaders

The Montana Wilderness Association is preparing their schedule of winter programs and is seeking input on the types of programs and hikes desired by members and the general public. Anyone with suggestions or who is interested in leading or co-leading a hike or program is encouraged to contact Ashely South at 291-2708 or Brian Baxter at 291-2154.

 

Heritage Museum Holiday Bazaar scheduled for Nov. 6 at the museum

The Heritage Museum’s Holiday Bazaar, which traditionally kicks off the holiday season each year, is coming soon. Friday, Nov. 6 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., the Museum will be the place to start your shopping. There will be a wide array of local crafts – woodcrafts, jewelry, photography, artwork, holiday and home décor, needlecrafts, specialty food items and more. Whether you’re shopping for gift-giving or just for yourself, you’re sure to find something you like.

In addition the vendors’ tables, the Museum’s table will be filled with items and gift certificates that have been generously donated for this sale by local merchants and friends of the museum. 100 percent of the money earned at this table goes directly to the Museum.
