Five members of the 2015 Troy Trojans football team earned all-conference recognition for their performance during the season. One earned all-state honors in three positions.

Junior Tucker Winn was voted onto the all-conference second team as both a running back and defensive end, along with seniors Cody Johnston (defensive back), Kolton Winebark (outside linebacker and defensive lineman) and Conner Quiring (linebacker). Senior Sean Opland, who is committed to Montana State University, was selected to the all-conference first team as a running back, linebacker and kick returner. He was also named to the all-state team in all three positions.

Troy head coach Brendan Miller praised both the effort and leadership of his team’s honoreees.

“It is great for these kids to be recognized for the hard work they have put in, not just during the season, but the off season as well,” he said. “We were told by every team we played, that we were  the hardest hitting team they had played all year. A big part of that was these boys that got voted all-conference. We will miss the seniors, but it is good we had a junior make it too. I hope Tucker really builds on this season and does something great next year. They got all-conference, not just because they are good players, but because they were leaders. It was fun coaching them and will miss them next season.”

In addition to all-state honors, Opland ends his career as one of the best players in Montana high school history, Miller said.

Opland averaged 177.4 yards per game this season, which ranks him sixth all time in the Montana record books, including AA, A and B class football. He ended his career with 4,044 rushing yards, third on the all-time list. Those yards resulted in 42 career rushing touchdowns, putting him on the eighth spot.

Opland also had 14 consecutive 100-yard games, a Montana high school record, and 20 career 100-yard games, which tied him for fourth on the all-time list.
