| November 20, 2015 7:42 AM

Gregory Scott Jefferson, better known as Greg to family and friends, passed away in his sleep on Nov. 5, 2015, at the age of 51 in Ephrata, Wash., of natural causes.

Greg was born Feb. 7, 1964, at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Wash. He and his family moved several times after that, eventually coming to Ephrata in September of 1975. Greg graduated from Ephrata High School in 1983. After graduation, Greg went to work for Columbia foods before moving to Troy, where he worked in the forest industry planting trees and as a firefighter. Greg has held several different jobs through his life before reaching his ultimate goal, driving trucks. Driving was Greg’s childhood dream job. He would spend hours putting together models of various big trucks. Greg finally achieved his goal and got his commercial driver’s license in 2002. He drove for Medrano Trucking for the last decade. In his off hours, he enjoyed playing pool with friends, going hunting and learning how to fix up old trucks.

Greg is survived by his parents Ralph (Gail) Jefferson of Ephrata, Wash.; younger brother Raymond Jefferson of Blaine, Wash.; his sister Michelle (Richard) Searcy and nieces Brandy and Amber Searcy of Ephrata, Wash.; and his youngest brother Martin (Emily) Jefferson of Ephrata, Wash.

Memorial services to be held at Ephrata, Wash., Eagle Lodge No. 3338 at 1145 Basin St. S.W. on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Greg was a giant of a man with a heart to match. He didn’t have much to his name, but he would give you the shirt off his back or the last dollar he had in his wallet if he thought you needed it. He will be missed.

Arrangements are under the care of Nicoles Funeral Home of Ephrata, Wash.
