Thank you to a hometown hero
Letter to the Editor:
It happened last Wednesday, Nov. 4. I was going home after shopping when my electric scooter started giving me trouble. It kept shutting off.
I tried to think of how I was going to get it home when I man I didn’t know asked me what it was doing. I told him the battery was shorting out and starting driving away, keeping it moving by turning it on and off several times.
He came up to me in his truck and said, “I will help you, let me turn my truck off.”
I sat on the corner with my scooter until he came over to me. Then I put it in neutral and he pushed the scooter, with me driving it. When we got to the light he said, “let’s rest,” so we rested for a moment before he pushed me across the road and down to the Asa Wood school. I was able to get it started and go on my way, but it started to short out again. The man came up to me again and said, “I will push your wheelchair home for you with you in it.”
At that time, the Libby Transportation bus came along and I was able to get home on the bus.
I want to thank the man who pushed my scooter along, but I got on the bus without getting his name. I want to thank him for being a hero to me.
