Paint it Pink breaks fundraising records
The Paint it Pink October fundraising activities generated more than $11,500 in donations in 2015, funds that are used directly to benefit patients in Lincoln County.
Since the program’s inception in 2007, the fund has not only helped buy a digital mammogram machine, but also provided more than 160 free diagnostic and screening mammograms to uninsured patients in Lincoln County.
“Once again the community pulled together for the detection and treament of breast cancer for the people of Lincoln County,” Cabinet Peaks Medical Center marketing manager Kate Stephens said in a Nov. 13 press release. “We are thrilled with the amount of support from local businesses to put together events and Paint it Pink sale items to help raise money for this cause. This year, we were able to add new events to the schedule, and the additional awareness and activities for the program really paid off. Local businesses and community members continue to give to Paint it Pink because they are generous and they care about the impact that it has on their neighbors, friends and family members. It was another wonderful October in Lincoln County.”
All of the money raised for the Lincoln County Paint it Pink program stays in Lincoln County and is used for the benefit of Lincoln County men and women.
“One of the wonderful things about the Paint It Pink program is all of the money raised stays right here to help the people of South Lincoln County,” Stephens said. “It is important to those who contribute to the fund that their money is helping their own friends, family and neighbors right here at home. There is something very powerful in knowing we’re helping individual people, but also the local community as a whole. The money is put to use to provide mammograms to local uninsured men and women. It can also be used to help purchase educational materials regarding breast cancer, equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer and education for the professionals who provide care and treatment related to breast cancer. All of the equipment and materials stay here in Lincoln County for the people of Lincoln County.”
