Rep. Zinke needs to do the job he has sworn to do

Letter to the Editor:

I have written seven letters in the last 10 months to Rep. Ryan Zinke; all the letters had a certificate of mailing attached. I asked Rep. Zinke for his help in dealing with the United States Forest Service, who have boldly refused to honor their written recorded easement contract for U.S.F.S. Road 601 on my private property. The Forest Service, in so doing, is violating the United States Constitution, Article I, Section 10, which places responsibility on the federal government to protect contracts, not to deliberately break them.

Rep. Zinke has not responded to my letters and has avoided getting involved. He made a visit to Libby in July  to promote himself at the Libby library, but can’t take the time to do the job he took an oath to do, to protect and defend the Constitution as both a U.S. Navy S.E.A.L. and a member of the United States House of Representatives for the people of Montana.

The United States Constitution, the supreme law of the land, is not going to enforce itself. It’s up to people with a committed responsibility like Rep. Zinke to make sure it works and is not boldly violated and abused. At the present time, Rep. Zinke has neglected his responsibility to that oath.

In a letter to his Republican colleagues prior to his election as the 54th Speaker of the House, Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin wrote, “Whatever our differences, we’re all conservatives. We were elected to defend the Constitution. We share the same principles.”

It appears that Rep. Zinke does not share these same principles concerning the defense of the U.S. Constitution. Perhaps a constitutional conservative will turn up in the next election. So help us God.
