Michelle Boltz, FNP-C, has joined the staff at Cabinet Peaks Medical Center where she will serve as a hospitalist on the facility’s staff.

According to Kate Stephens, the marketing director for Cabinet Peaks Medical Center, a hospitalist is a medical provider who specializes in acute care for hospitalized patients. Boltz will provide care to patients admitted into the hospital.

Boltz was most recently on staff at the Center for Asbestos Related Disease clinic in Libby. Prior to that she worked for five years in Noorvik, Alaska where she was the sole provider in an area roughly the size of Rhode Island and included 10 Inupiaq Eskimo villages.

She received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Washington State University Intercollegiate College of Nursing in Spokane, Wash., in 2004. She then entered the Master of Nursing: Family Nurse Practitioner program, from which she graduated summa cum laude in 2006.

Boltz is a local girl, born and raised in Libby and a graduate of Libby High School.

“I come from a family of nurses including my great-grandmother, grandmother, mother and sister,” she said. “I came back to Libby because I wanted an opportunity to serve the community that supported me and to contribute to the notable resources that Cabinet Peaks Medical Center offers our patients. I have had the opportunity to work in various critical access hospitals across rural Montana, and the community of Libby is very fortunate to have access to the caliber of resources that are available at Cabinet Peaks Medical Center.”

Boltz lives in Libby with her seven-year-old daughter Kiana and five-year-old son Kyran, the fifth generation of Libby-raised children in her family. Labeling herself a true Montana girl, Boltz enjoys outdoor activities such as biking, skiing, swimming and camping. She also enjoys meditation and laughing with her friends.
