Oct. 7

• A man called to report his son had changed the locks on his apartment, but when the father went to pick up items for his son he found other people in the apartment.

• A woman from Second Street reported she had been buying a vehicle, but when she came back from an out of town trip the original owner had taken the vehicle.

• An anonymous caller reported a man was yelling and flipping people off in front of a local store.

• A man went into the Sheriff’s Office to request an individual be removed from his property.

• A purse was stolen from a vehicle on Eighth Street after the window of the vehicle was broken.

• A man living in Idaho called to request law enforcement assistance in recovering a vehicle he loaned to a friend in Libby more than one month ago.

• A caller in the Swamp Creek area phoned 911 to report pieces of firewood in the highway.

• A caller from a local casino reported a man was making threats.

• A caller on Montana Avenue reported a suspicious vehicle.

• A man called to report his wallet was stolen from his vehicle.

• A caller reported a possible vehicle in the water near the Osprey Boat Landing. The vehicle was Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks doing a river survey.

• A caller reported a tool box fell out of a vehicle somewhere between Montana Avenue and the area of Fireman’s Park.

• A caller on Education Way reported a suspicious vehicle, he noted seeing the vehicle attempting to enter his property the previous day. Officers were unable to locate.

 

Oct. 8

• A fifth-wheel RV was reported stolen in the Spencer Road area.

• A caller reported seeing a single flame behind an area business. Libby Volunteer Fire Department responded and reported it was the propane company burning off excess from a tank.

• Deputies were called to assist removing individuals and vehicles from a property on Hammer Cutoff Road. The property was secured.

• A caller from a local store reported a shoplifter.

• A caller reported a minor in possession of tobacco at Libby High School.

• A caller reported an overdue aircraft and requested check of Libby and Troy airports. Officers were unable to locate the aircraft at either airport.

• A local care center requested assistance locating a patient who walked away from the facility.

• A caller phoned 911 at the request of a friend, but the circumstances were unknown. The caller phoned dispatch to report it was a mistake.

• A woman from the Bowker Trailer Court reported she was being harassed.

• A woman called to report finding a purse, wallet and pill bottles in her driveway.

• Eureka Police arrested a man wanted in Libby Justice Court for criminal possession of dangerous drugs.

• A woman was involuntarily transported for a mental health evaluation after a caller reported hearing yelling and a gunshot near Spencer Road.

• Deputies responded to a call from a local motel after a guest notified the front desk of hearing a woman yell for help.

• A man was arrested on Spencer Road on a warrant for revocation.

 

Oct. 9

• A caller advised dispatch a traffic light at U.S. Highway 2 and Indian Head Road had fallen apart and pieces were in the street.

• A caller reported witnessing a car swerve all over the road and strike the guard rail. Montana Highway Patrol was notified.

• Deputies investigated a vehicle parked near the clubhouse in Pioneer Park. The owner was walking the dog.

• A caller on Parmenter reported a bear cub had been in the tree all night.

• A man was arrested at the Fifth Street Extension near the railroad crossing for violating probation.

• A woman called from an area parking lot to report she hit a parked vehicle.

• A traffic accident was reported at the bottom of Whiskey Hill.

• An employee at a local casino overheard information about possible illegal drug activity from a customer.

• A man reported for a four-day commitment ordered by Libby Justice Court.

• A man from the Indian Creek Road area was transported to the hospital after being shot in the hand.

• Officers were dispatched to a local convenience store after an intoxicated male was reported attempting to take his child away from the child’s mother.

• A man called to report his wife had been drinking and was texting suicide threats.

• A man from 10th Street called to report his ex-girlfriend and another man just showed up at his residence.

 

Oct. 10

• A caller reported finding a juvenile girl she found walking around alone looking for her dog. Dispatch was able to locate the child’s mother.

• A caller phoned 911 to request the non-emergency dispatch number, then called the non-emergency number to request assistance with individuals she had previously evicted.

• A woman on Norman Avenue reported an attempted break-in at her residence.

• An anonymous caller reported a dog barking non-stop for five hours.

• A caller from a local business reported finding a stray dog with  a city tag.

• A caller requested an officer after catching their 12-year-old son drinking beer.

• A caller on Hammer Cutoff road reported finding drug paraphernalia and a stolen credit card while cleaning out a house after evicting tenants.

• A caller reported a possible underage party in the area of Warland Creek.

• A caller reported hearing a possible gunshot in the area of the state shop.

 

Oct. 11

• At 1:09 a.m. a caller reported an open door on a local business. City police responded and reported the building was clear.

• A woman called from a local bar to report her vehicle window had been broken.

• A suspcious person was reported running near a local apartment building. Officers were unable to apprehend the running person.

• A caller reported hearing voices from the area of outbuildings at J. Neils Park and possibly shots fired from a .22.

• A woman from Park Street called to report a fire near a propane tank, she also reported a man took her phone and started the fire after assaulting her. The fire department put out the fire, but law enforcement officers were unable to locate the male suspect.

• A caller on Pipe Creek reported being harassed while vacating property.

• A caller reported finding a wallet in the parking lot of a local storage facility.

• A caller on Commerce Way reported a break-in at their residence.

• A caller from Airport Road reported vandalism.

• A caller from Mountain Meadow Road reported a goat showed up in his field, he wanted to know if anyone was looking for a lost goat.

• A caller near Utah Avenue reported a bear on the property.

• An employee from a local casino called to request law enforcement walk through because a customer with a backpack was making her nervous.

• A caller from Troy reported his daughter was being harassed on the school bus. Officers spoke with both parties.

 

Oct. 12

• A caller reported a suspicious person walking along the old Highway 2 near Troy. The suspect reportedly ducked into the woods whenever a car would approach.

• A woman was arrested for driving with a suspended license.

• A woman called to report the theft of the back porch from her brother’s residence.

• A caller requested an ambulance for a man who shot himself in the foot with a .22 while attempting to shoot a packrat.
