In honor of our military heroes, Lincoln County Public Libraries will be accepting donations of lightly worn paperbacks to send our troops abroad. The last day to donate books is August 15.
Summer reading begins June 1. This year’s theme is “Every Hero has a Story.” From the youngest child to the strongest, mightiest crusader, each and every hero has a story to tell. Summer reading materials are available at each library branch.
This summer’s essay contest is focused on that theme. Participants can submit an essay of no more than 1,000 words, answering the question: Who is your hero, and what makes him or her heroic? Essays must be submitted to the Libby library by 6 p.m. June 30. Essays will be separated into age groups of six to 12, 13 to 19 and 20 and up.
