Fire sweeps through local restaurant; MK Steakhouse burns Monday; cause and damage unknown
The Libby Volunteer Fire Department and Lincoln County Rural Fire District responded to a fire at the MK Steakhouse Monday morning.
The restaurant, long a local fixture, appeared to be engulfed in smoke although no flames were visible from the outside.
At least one fire engine, along with two tenders, two ambulances and several law enforcement officers responded to the scene of the fire, about 10 miles outside of Libby on Highway 2 south.
Fire department officials were unavailable to comment on the fire as of press time, as the fire scene was still active. The amount of damage sustained and the cause of the blaze are also still undetermined.
The Western News will be reporting new information as it becomes available.
