The Lady Loggers jumped out to an early lead on the Bonners Ferry Badgers and captured a 12-2 victory on Monday. Eleven runs in the first three innings allowed Libby to put the game to bed after five innings.

“The girls played well,” said Loggers’ head coach Dean Thompson. “They hit the ball well and played good defense.”

Leading the way for the Loggers was senior strikeout artist Hannah England. England fanned 14 batters during the abbreviated game, which put her over the century mark after only 11 games. For the season, she has 102 strikeouts and has given up a paltry 47 hits. England has displayed exemplary control throughout the season with 582 of her 853 pitches crossing the strike zone.

In the first inning, an RBI single by Abby Ennenga, an RBI triple by Devon Gallagher, a wild pitch, a groundout by Auria Benefield, and an RBI single by Khalyn Hageness put points on Libby’s side of the scoreboard.

Gallagher leads the Loggers in hitting for players who have seen action in every game to date. She currently has 26 RBIs, 6 homeruns, has a .630 on-base percentage while batting an impressive .575.

The scoring continued in the second for the Lady Loggers on two errors and an RBI single by Dayln Germany.

Ennenga racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Lady Loggers.

England allowed one earned run on one hit and one walk over the five innings.

Nicole Dunn took the loss for the Badgers, allowing 12 runs in three and a half innings. Dunn walked two and struck out none.

Libby travels to Whitefish on Friday and will play an all-important home game against Frenchtown on Saturday at 3 p.m.

The Broncs have the best record in the conference and state and boasts Ohio State-bound pitcher Morgan Ray.
