Changing of the Guard Betty Mitchell, center, is once again treasurer of Lincoln County. She took over this week from Minnie Anderson, right, who is beginning retirement although she will continue working part-time at the treasurer’s office for an indefinite period. Moving up to duties as deputy treasurer is Donna Reed, left, who first worked in the office in 1952 and who has worked there steady for the past 10 years. Mrs. Mitchell was appointed treasurer in 1949 to complete a term begun by Kenneth Bigelow, and she was elected to the office in 1950, 1958 and 1966. M.M. Mansfield was elected to the office in 1954. Mrs. Anderson has worked in the treasurer’s office since 1955. She was elected in the fall of 1962 and in 1970. Photo from the March 6, 1975, files of The Western News.
