Star Phillips

| March 17, 2015 9:39 AM

Star Phillips, 54, died peacefully at home from lung cancer at 3:15 p.m. on March 12, 2015.

She was born Dec. 28, 1960, at Pratt, Kan., to Dale and Neva Schram.

Star was survived by her father Dale Schram and13 brothers and sisters living in Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her mother Neva Schram and niece Marie Bristol.

Star was owner of Loaves and Fishes Cafe, where she donated to local charities, and was committed to feeding anyone who walked through the door regardless of their ability to pay. Star also ran the annual toy giveaway, “Christmas is for Kids,” where she provided toys for over 300 children each year for the past 12 years. Star was a prime example of “paying love forward” as she believed the Lord commissioned all believers to do.

She will be sorely missed, and while she would expect us all to shed some tears, she would also expect us to praise the Lord for going ahead and preparing a place for her. She has said many times over the past few months to remind everyone that this may be a time for mourning our loss, but is also a time for celebrating her gain. “For to be absent from the body is to be at home with the Lord,”(2 Corinthians 5:8). Which is a place so many of us look forward to being someday.

Services will be 11 a.m. on Monday, March 23, at Libby Christian Church with a reception to follow. Arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby.
