Dorothea Miner

Dorothea Tyson Miner, 86, died on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Cabinet Peaks Medical Center in Libby. She was born Jan. 18, 1929, to Thomas and Lillian Tyson in Auburn, Calif.  She graduated from Lincoln High School and got her associate degree from Placer Junior College.

She married Ray William Miner, Jr. in July 1947. When he completed his degree they moved to Grangeville, Idaho. They lived in and around Grangeville until their move to Libby in 1972.  Dorothea was active at the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, serving as treasurer and in the Episcopalian Church Women for many years. Dorothea loved traveling to Great Britain and Europe. She enjoyed traveling around Lincoln County for her job as a housing census taker.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, her husband Ray, son John and grandson Charlie.  

She is survived by her children, Richard of Beaverton, Ore., Susan (Michael) Cummings of Fairfax, Va., David (Virginia) of Grayslake, Ill.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at the Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2015.
