Arthur Polette

Arthur “Art” Polette died Feb. 24, 2015, in Phoenix, Ariz. He was born to Ted and Elna Polette on May 22, 1932, in Libby where he attended grade school through high school, graduating in 1950. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served in the Korean War, and after his honorable discharge he returned to Libby.

He worked for J. Neils Lumber Company for 20 years and then worked for various gyppo-logging companies as a skidder operator until his retirement.

Art enjoyed the great Montana outdoors through fishing, hunting, gardening, fishing, camping, playing cards and did we say fishing?

He is survived by his wife of 48 years Ruth Polette of Black Canyon City, Ariz.; sons, James Polette (Teri), Terry Magone (Barb), Steve Magone (Charlotte) and Tom Magone (Ritchel); daughter Dana Henry; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Earl and Millie Measner and siblings Bob and Darlene.
